其實我知道這首《I Got Better》有一陣子了，它在【《告示牌》百大單曲榜（Billboard Hot 100）】榜單上已經好幾個星期，所以每個星期我就看著它名次越來越高，這兩個星期都來到了第九名，但我不曾把整首歌聽完，因為我本來以為我對鄉村音樂的接收能力會很差，不過，在聽過一樣也進入百大單曲榜好幾週的 Russell Dickerson 的《Happen to Me》後，覺得頗能接受，所以我決定來聽聽鄉村風更濃的《I Got Better》，結果發現，還真的蠻好聽的，難怪它在百大單曲榜上節節高昇，更是【公告牌鄉村電臺榜（Billboard’s Country Airplay chart）】榜上蟬聯好幾週的冠軍，我差點就錯過它了。
《I Got Better》一開頭伴隨著吉他的那段旋律立刻就呈現出超典型的鄉村音樂風格，以及 Morgan Wallen 那帶有鼻音的嗓音，完全就是我刻板印象（又來了，我那要不得的刻板印象）中鄉村樂手的嗓音，都是我當初對這首歌「怯步」的原因，但現在也是我覺得《I Got Better》會這麼有特色、這麼好聽的原因。此文著作權為［西莉西亞的喃喃自語］所有，未經同意請勿轉載。此外，描述情傷的歌詞內容也是這首歌吸引人的一部份，那種明明受傷的心還在淌血，但還是要硬ㄍ一ㄣ著說：「我沒事，我好多了」，就是不想讓對方得逞得意的感覺。當然，Morgan Wallen 的嗓音也賦予這首歌獨到的味道與情感，像是他在唱：「I got better since you got gone」時，感覺似乎有特意以稍微顫抖的聲音去呈現歌詞中自憐、苦情但又憤憤不甘的心境。另外，還有個特別之處，就是 Morgan Wallen 把他親身觀察到有人射殺未成年小鹿的「憤怒之情」化作這句酸語：「My neighbors still shootin' all of next year's deer」加進歌詞中，還挺有意思的。上個月《I Got Better》也釋出 MV 了，簡單的畫面完美的演繹出情傷心碎的感覺，滿身傷痕的 Morgan Wallen 應該收服了不少心疼他的粉絲，他可真是越來越好囉。
